Me... Six, Seven Years Ago.
A popular thing that has been going around (or it used to go around, I'm not sure), is the Teen Meme. This is where an artist will draw how they looked as a teenager next to how they look now.
Here's mine. I'm quite different from how I used to be, but I like to think that the teen-me would approve of the now-me.

Your right, teen-you should be proud of the now-you. Not that there was anything wrong with your 17-18 look, it was appropriate for the age, but it is evident that there is a significant change in you. It is really apparent in the fact that the now-you is smiling as though well pleased with what he is becoming. Also, love the drawing.
